5 Science Experiments with Coke that Kids Will Love

What do you need?
- Coca-Cola (you can get from coca cola distributor)
- Diet Coke
- Mentos
- bleach (15% solution sodium hypochlorite)
- a rusty tool
- milk
- frying pans
- burner
- 4 cups
How to Do It?
- Eruption of Diet Coke and Mentos
Toss a mentos into a Diet Coke bottle. Keep an eye out for the release of gas and the formation of a foam spout.
- Milk and Coca-Cola
Fill a 30ml milk glass halfway with 50ml Coca-Cola. Watch as the milk curdles and the solution pales.
- Rust and Coca-Cola
Allow a rusted tool to soak in 150ml of Coca-Cola for 5 hours. Remove it from the solution, wipe it off with a paper towel, and check for rust disappearance.
- Coca-Cola and bleach
To 50ml Coca-Cola, add 20ml bleach (15 percent solution sodium hypocholorite). Keep an eye on the mixture as it fades.
- Sugar Content in Cola
On a frying pan, pour 200ml of classic Coca-Cola. Heat until all of the liquid has evaporated. Repeat the experiment with Diet Coke in a second frying pan. Take note of the large amount of black tar in the classic Coca-Cola.
